LED tv

"LED TV" is a marketing term invented by Samsung to promote LCD television sets with light-emitting diodes (LEDs) as a backlight, as opposed to conventional LCD TVs, which use cold-cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFL) for a backlight. This is not to be confused with OLED display technology.

The difference of CCFL to LED is that, LED takes less space in thickness of TV. LED backlight allows the TV with less than 2 inch of thickness. LED creates high saturation and creates deeper shades of black. the advantages of LEDs over fluorescent backlights are that they are small, low power, produce little heat, and are sometimes used in groups such that if one LED burns out, the remaining LEDs will still produce light.

Other advantage of LED tv is that it is more environment friendly as it consumes less power and there is no mercury involved in the manufacturing, however other elements like arsenic are involved in the LED.

Overall, its slightly different from LCD, will hopefully perform better and creates deeper crave to the pocket.

Enjoy on your own risk... :D
